LSI is an international group of 15 language schools operating in Australia, the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and more.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated ESL professional to manage and expand our Brisbane school, delivering a quality experience to International students. The role includes the management of the academic aspects of the school, as well as regular classroom teaching.

As the leader of the academic team, you will ensure that the school meets the needs of our clients, both students and education agents, by offering courses and services that are of consistently high quality.

The role covers all aspects of daily academic management, including:

  • Curriculum Management
  • Student Management
  • Regulatory Compliance

The role is full-time and will include a teaching load of approximately 15 hours per week.

You will have the support of our small, strong team of teachers, the Administration Manager and the Finance Manager at a local level. You will also work with the Group Academic Manager in our London based Head Office who directs the Academic Framework across the schools.

Successful applicants must have:

  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Experience in a supervisory role – in teacher management or full academic management
  • A Bachelor’s degree plus CELTA (or CELTA equivalent)
  • TESOL qualification at postgraduate diploma level or above (Cambridge DELTA, or MA in Applied Linguistics or MA TESOL)
  • Native speaker English fluency (equivalent to IELTS 8.0 across all skills)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • High-level organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong administrative and IT skills
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Knowledge of, or strong willingness to learn about, the Australian Regulatory environment for English Language Schools

Your New Division:

The Division is responsible for the creation and execution of the University’s Internationalisation Plan, influencing the international student experience and the international agenda across the University. This involves but is not limited to program and market development, coordinating the mobility of domestic students to study overseas and overseeing the English language delivery at the University’s four CQUEnglish Language Centres.

Your New Role:

 You will develop and implement a long term strategy for CQUEnglish growth, with a focus on increasing student numbers and market share in CQUEnglish main suite programs, study tours and short courses. You will take a leading role in the design, marketing and business development of CQUEnglish main suite programs, study tours and short courses, as well as student recruitment for these activities.

Selection criteria
Qualifications (essential)
• Three-year full-time degree or equivalent
• Recognised TESOL certificate (100 contact hours + at least six hours supervised and assessed practice teaching in TESOL) or a degree/diploma in education with TESOL method

Experience
• At least 2 years’ full-time equivalent English Language teaching experience, preferably at a recognised and quality endorsed Australian institution
