Presenting: NEAS ELT Leaders Program
As well as working as a NEAS Quality Assessor for the past two years, Darren Brookes has been working as part of a NEAS team to develop synchronous and asynchronous online courses for NEAS member Centre academic managers. These courses have been created using the Canvas LMS, third party applications and other open source eLearning authoring software, including H5P. Darren holds a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from The University of Queensland with a major in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Darren also hold qualifications in quality auditing, training and assessment and project management. Darren has worked across the ELICOS, EFL and higher education sectors for over twenty years. His special interests include leading the development of eLearning, mLearning, and blended learning. In another international, research grant mentoring project, Darren has investigated ways in which to effect and manage online communities of practice for both mentors and researchers using the Canvas LMS. This project is being jointly sponsored by NEAS, UECA, Rmit Vietnam and IDP Cambodia.
