NEAS’ newest High School centre, Alphington Grammar Language School (AGLS) opened its doors to international High School aged students last July. The school’s vision to successfully blend English language and academic skills as well as Australian culture was brought to life by the dedicated team at Alphington Grammar. In addition to the school room, the Academic Manager, Ms Stav Touranakos, has opened the classroom experience out into cultural melting pot of suburban and city Melbourne as well as the beautiful Dandenong Ranges and Sovereign Hill.
The students’ confidence is building as they speak to everyday Aussies on trains, in cafes and tourist spots. According to Stav, these cultural experiences “are a way to confirm that Aussies are helpful and friendly people”.
