Karen has worked for 13 years in English language teaching and education management. She holds a Master’s degree in Education (TESOL) amongst other industry-related qualifications and is passionate about lifelong learning for herself, colleagues and students. During her career in education she has worked with monolingual and multilingual classes, taught exam preparation courses, academic English programs, and developed General English, Professional English and work preparation programs. Karen has received two national awards from the Australian peak body, English Australia; The Award for Academic Leadership in recognition of her contribution to professional development within the English language teaching community and Contribution to Professional Practice for an action research project preparing learners for extensive reading. Karen was a founding member of the #AusELT professional learning network for English teachers which now has over 1000 active members in Australia and beyond.
