The English Australia 2018 conference finished today with NEAS and English Australia signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and agreeing to work together more closely. The organisations committed to consulting more regularly on matters of mutual concern, sharing information and publicly promoting each other.
Cynthia Kralik, Chair of English Australia stated: ‘This is a significant step for two organisations that are critical to the ELICOS sector. By working together, we can use our collective expertise to further enhance our already strong sector.’
The MoU signifies a key moment for the ELT industry as the national Peak Body and the Independent Quality Assurance specialist work towards growing and maintaining the industry’s sustainability.
Chair of the NEAS Board Ms. Denise Taylor and Chair of the English Australia Board Ms Cynthia Kralik signed the MoU. This significant step further cements a closer working relationship between the two organisations, which should lead to better industry outcomes.
At the signing Denise Taylor, Chair of NEAS Australia stated that: “the ELT sector in Australia requires leadership and stewardship from both an advocacy and a quality assurance perspective. NEAS continuing to work together with English Australia and formalising an even greater collaborative approach is great news for the sector.”
